JAPANESE GARDEN COCKTAIL PARTY

Joan and Achille Paladini will host a cocktail party for 24 guests at their 100 year old Japanese garden and authentic tea house located on the boundaries of Hillsborough and San Mateo. The garden is registered with the Smithsonian Institute as the most authentic privately owned Japanese garden in the United States and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The tea garden will provide a beautiful backdrop for guests to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. During the party, guests will be treated to a private tour of the gardens and tea house.

The site for a recent movie production, this location was considered by Steven Spielberg for his film “Memoirs of a Geisha” and was featured on the Oprah Winfrey show as one of the most beautiful gardens in America. It has been photographed and featured in numerous home and garden magazines and books.

The party will take place during daylight, not to exceed three hours, and must occur during fair weather on a mutually agreed upon date between June and October 2008 or April and May 2009.

Your tour guide, Dick Jeffery, has never seen a car he didn’t want to restore, especially British sports cars. He has owned, restored and shown some of his cars, including Austin Healeys, Jaguars, Morgans, Alfa Romeros, Porsches and the limited production HRG, in the Hillsborough Concours.
